With many areas in the United States having severe water shortages and increasing water use prices many people are looking for ways to minimize their water usage. Most water usage for most people comes from taking showers.
Federal regulations have required that shower heads deliver no more than 2.5 gallons per minute since 1992. The vast majority of shower heads today are 2.5 gpm shower heads
The High Sierra 1.5 GPM High Efficiency Low Flow Shower Head uses 1 GPM less water than almost all shower heads in the united states. It is easy to see how the savings in water and water heating costs can add up quickly.
“Rated Best Shower Head by Popular Science”
Seeing this I decided to purchase the The High Sierra 1.5 GPM High Efficiency Low Flow Shower Head on amazon and see if the low flow shower-head would be comfortable enough to justify the water savings.
The first thing you may notice is just how low profile the shower head is. On the high sierra shower head their is only one nozzle which turns into a high pressure and drenching rain like stream by a single horizontal pin inside. It was incredibly easy to install. All I had to do was unscrew the old shower-head and screw in the new one.
Long story short I am incredibly satisfied with the shower-head and would not be able to tell you it is only a 1.5 GPM shower-head without knowing beforehand. It is the best shower-head I have ever used regardless of flow rate.
I absolutely would recommend that you purchase it and it will pay for itself in water savings in no time.
They also have the “Tenaya” Line of shower heads for those who want a more normal profile shower head, although it is functionally the same as the regular version.
